Join us at Stillwell Brewing (3670 Kempt Rd, Halifax, NS B3K 4X8) on Friday August 7th for a lyrical night of good times and rhymes as we kick-off another awesome DCAF weekend with WORDBURGLAR, STRANGE ADVENTURES & THE DCAF Crew!

DCAF stands for The Dartmouth Comics Arts Festival, an amazing creative event located on the Dartmouth Waterfront. The 2026 edition of the Dartmouth Comic Arts Festival takes place over the weekend of August 8th & 9th on the Dartmouth waterfront. Saturday is programming (panels & workshops) at the Alderney Gate Library and Sunday is the market day at the Alderney Landing Market.

DCAF Talks: Drawing from Life

DCAF is pleased to announce Michael de Adder, Susan MacLeod, and Zeta Paul as panelists for the Drawing from Life panel!

From hard-hitting political satire to deeply personal memoir, some of the most compelling narrative art is drawn from real life. This panel brings together artists whose work is rooted in transforming reality into comic art. Using the medium of graphic storytelling to document, challenge and connect with the world around us, these artists will discuss how real life inspires unforgettable comics.

DCAF Talks: Research & Comics!

DCAF is thrilled to announce Jennifer Brady, Dr. Tim Fedak, Dr. Phillip Joy, and Lynette Richards as panelists for the Research & Comics panel, with Colleen Arcturus MacIsaac as moderator!

What happens when scholarship meets storytelling? Join comics creators whose work is grounded in research, and academics who collaborate with cartoonists, for a conversation about the many ways comics can be used to explore and disseminate research. From history and science, to social issues and the humanities, this panel will examine how comics can make complex ideas more accessible, foster new forms of inquiry, and reach audiences beyond the classroom.
